Job Description

We’re searching for a motivated, considered and articulate individual to join us in BAD Company as a PR & Communications Officer based at the brewery’s headquarters in Dishforth, near Harrogate and Leeds.  With a passion for communications, social media and strong interest in digital marketing, you will be responsible for all public relations, including interactions with the press, digital marketing, and the co-ordination, creation and publishing of content to BAD Co.’s social media channels. You will support reputation building, direct and indirect sales and act as the point of contact on social media marketing to business and individual customers.

  • Engage with our many followers and supporters across our corporate social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, Untappd and YouTube, as well as engaging with online forums and community of bloggers
  • Engage with the press from all print and digital media
  • Research of new topics and copywriting for press releases, online blog and social media channels
  • Build and execute weekly, monthly, and quarterly PR and social media plans
  • Actively builds and maintains network with key journalists, bloggers and opinion leaders within the industry
  • Builds and maintains accurate database of contacts
  • Builds the BAD Co. reputation for great products and customer service via social media channels and online store enquiries
  • Supports events and marketing activities nationwide and internationally
  • Reports to Brand Manager


  • First and foremost, a love of great quality and unique beer and the BAD Co. brand
  • Demonstrable experience in managing social media and online brand activities (in-house or agency)
  • An aptitude for developing creative and engaging content for social media channels as well as strong analytical skills to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our social media activity
  • Excellent communication skills with flawless understanding of English language and correct spelling and grammar
  • Excellent copywriting skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to influence through writing and speech
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to lead situations
  • Strategic thinker
  • Willingness to travel to events and work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Good communication skills and ability to build long-lasting relationships
  • Full proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, social media management software and press release distribution software
  • Outgoing, confident and personable, with proven experience working well within a team as well as autonomously
  • Experience working in a small team, with flexible can-do attitude

Additional Requirements (not mandatory)

  • Existing knowledge about the craft brewery industry
  • Familiarity with food and drink trends, contemporary and local cultures advantageous
